July 17, 2011 St. Anthony, NL

Awoke to 8 degrees celsius.

Partridge Berry pancakes at Lynn's B&B

Fellow B&B'er   Robin  from Fredericton.  It turns out she was doing the Goose Cove tour last night at the same time we were there.  Pretty funny !

Packed up for the drive to Rocky Harbour.

Saw a Humpback whale at Eddies Cove (while we were driving.  no pictures)

Cars stopped before the Castor River.  Apparently there was a moose along the hydro line a ways up off the highway.  Driver Tom never saw it but Photographer Sharon caught a glimpse of it.

Temperature climbing to 18 degrees celsius.  Drove through rain, fog, sun, rain, fog, sun.

Drove to Torrent River and took a 2km hike (to break up the long drive)
Made it down to Cow head for a quick lunch (aroud 2:30 pm) at  the Shallow Bay Motel

Made it to the Western Brook Boat Tour parking lot around 3:00 pm.  Hiked 40 minutes in to the boat.  Did the tour (approximately 2.25 hours)   The sun was out !  The temperature was up !  The fjords were amazing.  Hiked back to our car (and met Robin, our fellow guest from the B&B in St. Anthony

Made it to Rocky Harbour around 7:00 pm and checked in to the Ocean Acre Inn B & B (again)

Drove to Norris Point in search of a restaurant.

Went to the Ocean View Inn for dinner.  Oops !  Closed for a private wedding.

Went to JavaJacks for dinner but it was going to be a 45 minute wait for a table.  So,  we order wraps to go, got some beer at the local co-op, and then ate at the B&B

Met two couples at the B&B who were on our Western Brook Pond boat tour.  Too Funny !  Ken and Louise and Dave and ????
